Curriculum Vitae

J. Kürschner

Scientist with a doctorate in organic chemistry and extensive experience in designing, executing, and documenting complex experimental workflows. Seeking to apply problem solving skills in a challenging new role. Published author in prominent scientific journals. Demonstrated expertise in method development, analytical characterization, and data-driven project management, including coordination of collaborative research projects across international and multidisciplinary teams. Looking for new challenges to overcome.

My research focused on using visible light to drive challenging chemical transformations — using different non-covalent interactions to alter reaction outcome. In varying teams we investigated different cyclization reactions from [2+2] photocycloadditions in water to the synthesis of fluorinated hydrocarbons via photocatalytic annulation and radical chain cyclizations.

Outside the lab I photograph on 35mm film and digital, with a particular interest in architecture, landscape, and long-exposure work.
